Count Your Blessings

Go on, count them! Get your favorite journal or a nice piece of paper and your favorite pen and make a list of all the wonderful things in your life. My friend Tracy, who is the most generous of souls, gave me a beautiful pink journal last month. I haven't had the heart to deface it with my messy scrawl until today. My list of all the things that are wonderful in my life made the perfect first page.

Fostering a grateful attitude is actually good for your health.
I get caught up in feeling sorry for myself sometimes and I really have no right to when I have so much. Now I have this list to turn to when I'm feeling less than grateful to help set my thinking on a positive track. I hope that it will do the same for you.

This blog is definitely one of my blessings. I want to thank each of you who takes the time to read my long winded, run-on and sometimes preachy posts. A special thanks to Lara, who gave me my very first comment. I was pretty psyched that day!

  1. Hey! Thanks for the shout out! I have a wonderful, healthy soup recipe you MUST try:
    Kale & Canellini Bean Soup
1 20 oz can diced tomatoes (Hunt's Petite)
1 bunch fresh Kale (deribbed and cut into ribbons)
1 pkg turkey sausage, casing removed
    garlic/onions/dried basil
1 28 ox can canellini beans drained
3 cups low sodium chicken stock
    3 cups water
sea salt/red pepper flakes to taste

brown the sausage and add onions/garlic/seasonings...put the stock and water in, Kale, and beans and let simmer. Healthy, delish, low fat and comforting.

Sending positive thoughts out to you today.
    Hugs, Lara

  3. How weird- I've been reading this blog religiously since you told me about it, but I could have sworn that when I first checked, comments weren't allowed- so I just added you to Bloglines and read the feed without clicking through.

I would have been commenting weeks ago had I not made that mistake!

(Also, apropos of nothing, my captcha for this is "tedlite", which for some reason made me think of our dear Tedwin/Puddin. :-P)

  4. Lili~It's not your fault about the comments. When I first started this blog I had a hard time getting the settings figured out. I didn't realized that I didn't set up the comments feature up properly. Thanks for reading!
