The Magic of Fiber

Anyone who has ever tried to lose one pound or 100 knows that there is no magic formula, pill or potion that will make pounds disappear. The weight loss industry will try to convince you that there is, but keep listening to "Big Diet" and the only thing you'll end up with is a fat ass and a skinny wallet.

Although, I have found that fiber is about as close as you can get to a magic potion. The SAD (standard American diet) is practically devoid of fiber, yet fiber is one of the most beneficial keys to great health and healthy weight loss. Getting an appropriate amount of fiber daily can reduce cholesterol, help control blood sugar levels, reduce the risk for colitis, constipation and hemorrhoids. Try having a positive outlook on life while carrying around hemorrhoids in your pants all day. Good elimination is key to healthy weight loss. Good elimination leads to a light feeling that just can't be beat. I've even read that constipation can cause dark under eye circles, this alone is a good enough reason to up the fiber. Fiber-rich foods keep you feeling full longer, too.

In addition to juicing and trying to keep my food choices high in fiber, I also take fiber supplements every day. I like Fibersure, because it really does mix clear and have no taste and Nature's Secret Multi-Fiber. No, I don't spend the whole day in the bathroom. In fact, taking lots of fiber makes those bathroom trips quick and easy!

So get some fiber and get moving.
