Resolutions and Renewals

I've never really made a New Year's resolution before. Why set myself up for even more failure? But during the last quarter of 2008 I proved to myself that I could make changes and stick to them, so for 2009 I'm making renewals and resolutions. In the spirit of accountability, I'm posting them here. I'm going to track my progress as 2009 goes along.

Renewals
1. Follow the 4 Golden Rules
2. Keep my (and my husband's) health and fitness at the top of my priority list.
3. Keep moving!
4. Banish negative thoughts with my relaxation technique.

Resolutions
1. Read and work the exercises in The Four Day Win.
2. Get out my Yoga book and start practicing.
3. Learn to make homemade vegetable stock. Try new, healthy recipes and make over old favorites to fit my healthy life.
4. Eat a more plant based diet.

This blog has helped me in a way that I can't even begin explain. I want to give a heartfelt thanks to each person who has taken the time to read along. I wish you vibrant health, sublime happiness and all the best for 2009.

  1. Veggie stock is super easy. I just keep a big tupperware of veggie bits in my freezer and when it gets full do the whole boil it down and strain it thing to make the stock. All the bits of veggies I trim off before use go in the tupperware (carrot ends, mushroom stems, beet greens, the first layer of an onion I peel off, etc). My compost has suffered, but the stock is worth it.

  2. Thanks for the tip, Kaki! I started a veggie stock freezer bag when I made the root vegetable gratin last month. I'm going to keep adding to it and then give the stock a go. :)
