Monday Weigh-In

Back from the gym, really gave myself the hit parade this morning. I feel better for it, happier and calmer after last night's episode of nervous snacking. I was feeling annoyed and distracted, just not myself and ate way too many salted pistachios in the shell. It was calming but definitely not what I needed and now I'm feeling sodium bloat. Blargh! The scale read 209, so another pound down and 68 total, so that's good.

I just at the most delectable piece of fruit. There was no sign, but I was drawn to the lovely pink blush, I thought it may have been a plum but I think it was actually a nectarine I just ate. It had a white and pale pink, very sweet and creamy flesh. The flavor reminded me of a donut (or saturn) peach, which is one of the most delightful flavors I've ever had on my tongue. I'm going to have to go back to Publix and buy up some more of these tasty gems.

That's it for now, I have to juice and get ready for work. Have a fab Monday!

  1. Hi. I've been lurking on your blog for a bit and thought I'd say hi. I really enjoy reading your posts and like that you talk about the mental aspects of losing weight as well as the how to and your own success. It seems like you're doing fantastic. Thanks for modivation.

  2. Thanks for stopping by, Allison!

  3. Andra,
the fruit you are describing sounds like a Pluot which is a hybrid fruit, 3/4 plum and 1/4 apricot, combining the best qualities of each. They are featuring it in this months bon appetit, and there are some lovely recipes for it.
    ciao, Lara

  4. Thanks for tip, Lara but they weren't pluots. I've had pluots before and these were definitely nectarines, I knew after the first bite. Pluots are lovely but much more plummy. I found some very pretty apricots at Whole Foods today, I hope they are juicy sweet. :)

  5. Hey girlie, did you ever figure out what that fruit was? I'm curious to go poking around my Publix now to try them myself! :)
