Healthy Beverage Challenge for May 2010

The first thing I eliminated when cleaning up the quality of what I was putting in my body in the quest for better health was sugary *and* diet beverages. It's made a huge difference in how I feel and I don't miss it.

Saturday is May 1st and I'm I'm putting a challenge to all my readers. Give up sugary and diet sodas/teas/juice drinks for the month of May.

Drink pure water, fizzy water with a splash of 100% juice and hot or iced herbal teas in place of your usual sugary or diet drinks. It's just one month. Can you do it? How will your wallet feel at the end of the month? How will your body feel? I want to know!

Fellow bloggers, if you want to get involved, blog about this challenge and encourage your readers to blog it, tweet it and to pass it on.

Let me know if you are up to the challenge! I know you can do it.

  1. It can be done! In fact, since I started my recent bid for health last November, with the exception of a single alcoholic beverage mixed with Pepsi, have had only water or green tea (unsweetened) for beverages.

  2. This is very very timely! I have been thinking about eliminating pop from my diet for a few weeks now. As I lose weight I get fewer points (I follow WW) and wasting 3 a day on pop just seems like a major waste. I gave up all artificial sweetners in April of 2008 and have never gone back. Now time to get rid of that high fructose corn syrup! I think I'll post it on Friday as a challenge on our site as well (with a link back to you of course!) :)

I hope you'll come visit our site. It's www.sangriasisters.com. A friend and I have just launched it together.

  3. It can be done! I used to drink minimum 2 diet Cokes a day. I have one no more than once a week now. I still like it with a slice of pizza or a burger if I'm out. It's either that or a Micholob Ultra. I don't miss it at all. I don't think you have to eliminate it entirely. One a week is reasonable for almost anyone.
