Your journey is so inspiring! I found your blog/article through this Experience Life issue. I too have struggled with my weight (for me since college), and it took the birth of my twin daughters in Feb of 2010 to kick start my weight loss. I want to be a positive roll model for my children (I also have a 4 yr. old boy) and teach them to live healthfully. As a parent, I realized that we needed to live 'healthy' as a family if I wanted to impart that lesson with them permanently. My biggest hope is that my example will carry-on through their adulthood, so they can grow to be happy, healthy, productive people. So far, I have lost 40 lbs. from my original pre-pregnancy weight. Like you, I just got sick of being overweight and decided that I was really going to do something about it!!!! We completely changed our eating habits and I have intergrated excercise as part of my life. I have about 77 lbs. to go, but I am trying to take baby steps and focus on one goal at a time (actually mini-goals). I was really happy to read your story and I hope that my own weight loss journey can be as successful as yours!!!!
