Jiggity Jig and a Look to Next Week

We're back at home and as much as I hated to leave Hilton Head Island, there is nothing quite like a great night's sleep in one's own bed. It was a fantastic vacation, one that Rob and I will reminisce happily about until we're take off on our next adventure.

But now it's back to reality and reality is that I've put on 5 pounds while away. It's quite easy to do that while eating in restaurants for so many days in a row. But some is bloat and we were very active. I ate mindfully, careful to stop eating when I was full. Rob and I sometime split meals or plates went back with leftovers on them. I like to see that some habits are really starting to stick.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm going to do a one-month fitness and eating plan that was featured in the September issue of Self magazine. I'm going to follow the plan pretty much as written but with a few caveats. I'm going to have my vegetable juice most days, because unless I'm away from home on vacation, juicing is non-negotiable. I'm going to swap in some of the "at home" workouts, mainly the outdoor walks because when the weather is nice I need to be outside.

I'm going to try out the recipes, post photos and review them as I go along as well as reviews of the workouts. I'll post how I'm feeling and how "doable" the plan is. I won't be weighing in until I complete the program in 4 weeks, which will be on Sunday, October 24th. I'm quite excited to actually be taking on this project.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I'll see you back here next week for my first official "Self/Goal" post.

  1. When you weigh in on Sunday, Oct. 24th, you'll have to make sure you do it first thing in the morning! If not, you'll have to minus my weight, as I am going to be spooning you from the moment I get there, even whilst standing! (you do not have to post this!)

  2. Isn't just as irritating as all get out how fast the weight can come on when you indulge, even if it isn't like you used to? Wish it came off that fast, too LOL!

  3. Good luck! I always wanted to do the Self Challenge, but never remembered to get the magazine at that time of year.
