"Every meal doesn't need to be a party in your mouth."
When I read those words, I felt like I had been punched in the gut. And it wasn't in a book, or at some weight-loss symposium, or on some guru's blog. It was found in a thread on a forum dedicated to snarking on health bloggers.
"Every meal doesn't need to be a
party in your mouth."
Sometimes the Universe sends you just what you need exactly when you need it.
I can't believe it has been four months since I last posted. There have been much happenings here that have kept me busy. True, the desire wasn't there, but that was really a small part. So where have I been? Other than the work related injury in early June that had me incapacitated for a month and on restricted activity for July, much of it has been good. Hopefully this post will stimulate my writing juices so I will come back soon!
Glad to see you back
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog, and wow. Awesome job to becoming a healthier you! I'm just starting out and this was inspiring to read. thank-you!
ReplyDeleteI heard someone on The View say that every meal doesn't have to be the best meal and my immediate reaction was Well Why The Fuck Not??? I mean I don't want to waste my food on shitty foods. I want each thing I eat to be the thing I want to eat (if possible) and for it to hit the spot and be just that, awesome, a party and of course satisfying. What I have learned to do is exercise a little self control meaning, not every meal has to be the biggest. I love fatty foods, not junky fast food ones (all the time) but pizza, meatball grinders, mashed potatoes etc. but I make sure that i'm not stuffing myself. I will stop half way through and make sure i'm still hungry to go on. so yeah, I might be on the vegan people and health people's tisk-tisk list but do like working out and find that I am a much healthier (nicer) person when i'm not depriving myself. sorry for the babbling but I have been looking for an outlet to share my opinions on food with and your blog is just great.
